PoemTown Randolph launches its 9th Annual Celebration

Once again, on April 1st, Randolph’s streets and riverside trail will become a village-wide anthology of poetry. Poem Town Randolph will launch its ninth annual celebration of National Poetry Month.  Posters of over a hundred selected poems by poets from every corner of Vermont will be on display in the windows and doors of Randolph businesses and organizations, and along the river walk that runs through the forest from the Valley Bowl parking lot to the Third Branch of the White River. A published anthology of this year’s selected poems will be available later in April.

And once again, PoemTown is also scheduling a series of in-person poetry events in town, a glad and optimistic return to pre-pandemic practices (Covid precautions will still be in place.). On April 7, Silloway Sugarhouse will host readings by farmer poets,  Taylor Katz of Free Verse Farm in Chelsea and Jim Schley of Strafford, followed by the famous Silloway creemees! On April 13, poets Pamela Ahlen and Anne Bower will read from their new collection, and Danny Dover will offer new and old poems, at the White River Craft Center. At Chandler Center for the Arts, there will be a poetry open mic on April 18, and Aaron Marcus & Sam Sanders will present spoken word with piano on April 28. For all these events, see more details below.

Poem Town Randolph is grateful for generous sponsorship from area businesses, individuals, and foundations.  The Randolph Area Community Development Corporation and Chandler Center for the Arts remain enthusiastic partners.

Come out and enjoy the poems!  A great springtime tradition.
